You know you're a sinner
when you drink from the mirror
of the sea every morning
when you open your mouth.
You know you're a sinner
when you can't sit in the sunlight
without petrifying a brief instant
and getting along with it all.
And even if
your sins are really small
you know you're a sinner
when evening falls
and your eyes start to move
like curtains always do
in suspense films.
